Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has ran into this issue and if so, how they resolved it. I have a kevco m302 pan for my 408 Stroker motor with a Hughes engine main stud girdle. I can’t find a place to put the tab.

I’ve read some on here that some people have cut it off but that kevco warns that cutting the tab off could cause the pickup tube to break. If anyone could give me their two cents I would appreciate it!

Could always call Hughes or Kevco and see what they suggest.
I would consider drilling a hole in the girdle, put a fine thread bolt through the back and weld the head to the girdle, making a stud. Relocate the tab on the pickup tube to accommodate the stud.

I relocated the pickup tube tab on my kevo pan to a different main cap and to clear the windage trey.

Would it be possible to make the tab on the pickup tube slightly longer to accommodate the size of the stud and replace the washer with this tab? They’re both about 2/10 of an inch. Calling my engine guy tomorrow to get more info

So what I ended up doing was dremeling the hardened steel tab to fit over my girdle stud. I replaced the arp washer with the tab, it was actually a perfect fit. Sat flush with the girdle and had no issues clearing. Here’s some pics
