Just swapped a /6 904 auto in my A100 Van in place of the manual and need some tips on setting the adjustment on the kickdown linkage. It's just the single rod from the throttle pressure lever on the trans up to the carb . It only has one adjustable slider at the carb, with a pull spring to pull it to the forward position. I know if you don't get this set correctly the trans wont last very long. Thanks for the help.

Pretty much the same procedure as the multi-segment kickdown system. Push the throttle all the way open and adjust the k/d to be all the way back at the same time. This should put you in the ballpark. You can make fine adjustments from there for slightly raising or lowering your shift points.
