I held back from ordering today just wanted to ask if anyone is running this type of seat? I want something adjustable because I drive my car on the street as well..
Maybe Its just me but I cant stand a seat that is in a fixed position with no adjustments available at all...... What if your uncomfortable? Or on a long cruise?
Please advise Texas Red.. Gary

The only Kirkey seats I’ve used are the drag race style aluminum safety seats. They are designed to hold you in a certain position and you purposely give up some comfort for safety when you use them. Any seat designed with adjustability for comfort will give up saftey of some kind.

Kirkey seats are not meant to be adjustable, it's a racing seat. That should be fairly obvious? Look elsewhere if you want something that can be adjusted. You'd never put a Kirkey seat on a sliding seat mount because they are supposed to be mounted solidly to the floor and back braced to the roll bar.

That said, I like mine. The cover is molded on the bottom and is actually pretty comfortable. They also sell 1" high-density padding that makes the seat a bit more cushy but it's not really needed. I used it for height adjustment rather than comfort. Street/strip Duster.

I didn't say it wasn't possible to mount Kirkey seats to sliders but the fact is they are meant to be solid mounted. There's no point in buying safety equipment if you're willfully going to compromise it.

From the Kirkey webpage:

"FAQs

Will a KIRKEY RACING seat fit my application?
We produce seats for just about any racing application imaginable. The vehicle will need a roll cage or roll bar for the seat to be mounted securely to. KIRKEY RACING seats are not designed for street use in a road car where fixed mounting is not available.

How do I install a KIRKEY RACING seat?
A seat is only as strong as the mounting, you can have the best seat in the world but if it is not mounted properly then it is not likely going to perform as designed."
