they used to cover their big orange ball signs with jack-o-lantern wraps around holloween. I see more Jack in the box toppers than anything nowadays.

If you ever stop at a 76 station ask. They sometimes carry them. I run mooneyes on all my antennas.makes it easy finding my rigs in a parking lot.

            I worked at a Union 76 station from 1986 to 1988.

Don't remember those, but I have my old shop shirts.

They are "the read deal" versus those poser ones you see for sale at swap meets.

I had one of those on my antenna, and somebody swiped it right off my car at a car show.

Union 76 or unocal palled up with Kalifornias cash for clunkers buying up old cars even if they werent running therefore not polluting, turned in the titles, and smashed em to gain pollution credits so they could continue to pollute. Just a shell game so they didnt have to clean up their own mess.

There was an article in car craft years ago exposing that. They even bought a nice clean running and driving car a very clean 67 camaro from somebody waiting in line to turn it in, then promptly had it smog checked at a union 76 service station. The car passed no problem.

It was a pilot program prior to obummers nationwide clunker program that only made jap and korean carmakers, and their dealerships money, while fleecing the taxpayer and taking a lot of good used cars off the road. Thanks obama !! (insert sarcasm here). Unocal or union 76 was in part responsible because of their pilot program with that. We dont have union 76 stations where i live, but if we did, piss on em. Id always buy somewhere else even if it cost more.

Saw this 76 stuff on another forum.

It was discussed that these were from what is now known as Historic Highway 40, in Nevada, and California.

76 promotional give a ways, from the later 40's, into the 1950's.?

Holy crap, I just got off the phone with the speed shop owner and machinist that we all hung out with. His name is Steve Galloway, he just informed me about Tim Darby’s death. I live in Florida now so I don’t get all of the central California news like I used to. I sold Tim my 360 Plymouth scamp about 25+ years ago! He also had a big block El Camino, I have him on video at the race track at Bakersfield raceway running his rig. I knew him from high school up until I moved to Florida in 2001. Him and I used to go to the local clubs and bars in central California and party before I get married. Remember him very very well. Godspeed to your team! You’ll always be remembered by me!

At one time I probably had 50 of these (this is my last one).
I got these in the early 70's from my grandfathers work open house.

I'm not sure if they are just earlier or regional but you almost never see them labeled Union.
