Krusty lives.

Great progress on getting her on the road. I mostly kept my street-able while upgrading, with the exception of multiple engine/tranny pulls, and like you didn't worry about body work or painting. At least yours is one color!

My main goal was getting drivable.. i knew if i took it apart and stopped i would never finish.. i have had pretty much every part on or off 3 times now which is annoying.. but it's how i make sure stuff is truly crap :) first time i drove mine it gave me a huge smile though.. hadn't been in a old car in 25 years.. feels good :)

The only things I kept...
Fuel-cell [powder-coated it] , fuel-pump, and regulator
Door, quarter and rear glass
Body except for hood, bumpers, front inners
K-frame [been completely modified], spindles, a-arms and lowers
Cal-tracs
Rear 1/2 of moly cage
EVERYTHING else has been replaced.

So you kept the good "bones" and replaced the rest, was a solid plan. I wonder if the same person who cut the forward strut bar also had the moly cage installed, if so makes you wonder what they were thinking. I just noticed what you did with the dash, that looks great! I have a 70 Dart so the layout is different, but if I had that style i would be stealing the idea from you.

I think that honestly is one of the keys to keep people motivated. If you totally blow them apart it can kind of demoralize your motivation to keep going as it's easy to lose focus and get overwhelmed.

that's a lot of work in a few years.. (at least to me) i am 3 years in and a good part of it was rust repair and being lazy bout finishing :)

One of the nice thing about California cars is that they haven't had to deal with salt on the roads (I'm originally from Pittsburgh) so the bodies and "frames" tend to not need work.

I believe it was cut by the second person. The start was great. Looks like a rush by the second person to get `er done. I'm guessing the first person lost interest....or money to finish it. The cage is very high quality. My guy [AW Racecars] changed everything, in the front 1/2... except the halo. I moved the bars up to the windshield, and down-bars outside of the engine bay.

He's been doing that on mopars for years, he's done several of mine, over the ages. We're all gettin old...and he's gettin' ready to retire. He's a great chassis builder, and a medical and aerospace certified welder.

The motor-plate also has tubes attaching to the front down-bar, thru the alignment openings....
