I tried a set of cheapie chrome covers on my stock magnum with a crosswind intake and there was interference where the covers are recessed to clear the runners.....is it that they are cheap or has anyone else run into this
Im not really interested in buying a good set and having to grind/clearance them

Yes,it's been done. Ran the Stock valve covers, with the Crosswind first. The Stock LA stuff fits, way better off with some stiff aluminum stuff. I reused the stock Magnum gaskets, dropped some Ultra Grey ,into the extra bolt holes. Good Mr Gasket/Fel Pro gaskets, for a LA as well.

You need the steel core MP gaskets. Summit has um. They aint cheap but they will be the last gaskets you ever buy.

I've seen Mopar performance valve covers hit the intake runners on numerous engines. Had to grind and grind on my old Mopar perf covers to get them to clear the intake on my old 360. It's worse if the heads have been milled a bunch
