The only question is who are they and what are their motives

There was a time and a place for unions back when there were no government regs, but these days with work place health and safety, standard wage laws, government pensions, “I know but still” we all have bought into retirement plans other than the unions give or the government. All the unions do is drive the prices up. The unions bitch the dollar doesn’t buy enough any more we need a raise, well that’s because the other unions got their raise and the prices went up. In all my years in BAC the only thing except raise my wages they did was protect the slackers. My opinion.

Ok so I’m non union, yes I have a competitive wage because of the past unions but … they do protect the shitty employees let’s face it if your a good worker do the job well then there’s no need to be protected.

In my trade shitty workers only lasted a season when winter came the good workers stayed working the others were layed off an in the union hall waiting usually till next spring. Union can’t do shit about lay off. If they didn’t get called they’d last in the hall till unemployment insurance ran out

Is there a labour board in Wisconsin. Employers don’t want to mess with the one here although if you call them you wouldn’t have a job long. But that doesn’t matter the employer will be in their books and harassed about everything. Employers understand this so.

We have the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). A typical government department with no real power.
Was never a fan of our union, either. Luckily I never had the need to rely on either of them.

The local stone quarries had a problem with the union, can’t remember details, but the family that owned it where very well off. They closed up shop went home after allotted amount off time they sent letters to all former employees telling them they could come back to work no union. Being a bricklayer and living 12 miles from it I knew of this quarry very well. The owners never treated anyone badly fairly for sure Xmas bonus for sure and the such. That was 20 years ago hasn’t been a union in there since employees don’t want it. Go figure

I've been on both sides, never was a big fan of unions, can't say the the union ever did anything for me, always seemed like they were neutered anyway. I prefer non union simply because it seems a lot less convoluted bullshit. I have always believed that a person should be paid according to their work ethic first, and years on the job second. Not many employers that I have known realize that rewarding someone simply because they have been around for however long, even if that person is a slackass, just pisses off the others who are hard workers, especially if the others have to work harder/longer because of the slackers lack of effort. I consider that to be rewarding incompetence.

I worked 46 year and only had a union and that was in my last job. I worked one day and had to pay union dues because of the date of the month.
The last contract before I retired we got .25 cents an hour raise. Didn't know what to do with all that extra money. And like everyone says they are only good at two things. Protecting the lazy and dishonest people and collecting their dues.
I helped keep a union out of one place I worked and we made out better without them..
We kept them out by 1 vote so it was very close.

                                          Morning guys and Happy Tuesday.
This town is right next to where I live and I grew up in Whitby
Police in a community northeast of Toronto say when they managed to stop a vehicle that sped past them at about 150 km/h, they found an 11-year-old boy at the wheel and a 12-year-old boy was his passenger.
The Durham Regional Police Service says in a statement that they got a call Sunday night about a possible impaired driver leaving a gas station in Whitby, and they were on the way to the Hyundai owner’s home when the vehicle blasted by them.
The statement says the officers activated their emergency equipment and gave chase.

Police say the driver of the Hyundai lost control, smashed through a fence, drove through a backyard to get onto the road again, and then nearly crashed head-on with the pursuing police car.

Another police vehicle joined the chase and together they pinned the Hyundai in and forced it to stop, but not before it smashed through another fence.
Both driver and passenger were unhurt and have been separately released to the custody of their parents.

Police say one of their vehicles had minor damage and there was a lot of damage to fences.

No more allowance for them for a long while lol
