I have a 1969 dart with 1976 disc brakes. I cut the rotors and installed new pads and the caliper stuck. I bought a reman from the local parts store and nothing changed. I then bought both front brake hoses ( 1978 dodge aspen/calipers mounted rearward) Still stuck. bypassed the proportioning valve still stuck. took the master cylinder apart. looked good. right side spins free. bought another caliper thinking in could have been defective out of the box. still stuck. I can release pressure at the bleader, brake hose, proportioning valve, line lock, master and it will release the caliper.
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I have a hurst roll control line lock that I haven't bypassed but I'm not sure how it could effect only one side.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

maybe one of your metal lines is jacked ???

Is the master cyl a 4 wheel drum brake master cyl. It has pressure valves in both outlets.

Bypass the roll control, its the only thing left.

Different brand and model but after going through entire brake system and 3 sets of reman calipers I bought a cobra front brake upgrade kit for the 03 stang and finally they stopped sticking. I dont like reman calipers. If callipers are shot on my 71 swinger I will buy new ones from SSBS.

My ‘80 power wagon would hang up a caliper, give it a smack with a hammer and it would un-stick.
Phenolic piston, had a distortion on it and piston would wedge in the bore. I replaced both calipers with steel pistons.
So if they are phenolic pistons, that may be your issue.
But it strikes me as odd, more than one replacement caliper doing this.

I Read it again, if it will release when you crack line at master cylinder, then its at master cylinder. Why only one? Should be both calipers.
Drum brake residual valve holds more psi than disc brake valves.

I ordered this. It won’t be here until Tuesday.

Looks like the brake pedal rod mounts different?

I had to use a spacer to keep the brakes from lightly being on with my 68 Dart with the 1974 Master. It came with a plastic one but I made one out of 1/8" aluminium and never looked back.

New issue. Since the master and both front calipers were replaced I now have to pump the brakes a couple times for them to work ok. Even after pumping them several times the line lock still doesn't hold.

going to try this

"If you hold the pedal down, it will sink over time if you have a bad master cylinder.

I would block the pedal down overnight and then re-bleed in the morning. Usually if you hold pressure for a long period, it will work the air out."

New brakes, soft pedal, distribution blocks ?

I bench bled a mc, put it on, bless the brakes but I was having helper push pedal down and release too fast. I got the air aerated into the fluid. It took weeks for it to all migrate to the high points and combine. I too put a gallon of fluid through the system. Rebled 2 more times very slowly, finally got a good pedal

replaced the rear wheel cylinders

tried blocking off both ports and the pedal didn’t move (not sure if this is a legitimate test hahahah)

blocked of rear still does it.

thought I had replaced the calipers but evidently I put the old ones back on once the master fixed t he caliper hanging up.

tried blocking off the left caliper and it still did it. This sucked and didn’t want to try it on the right side. Used grease to seal the threads when bleeding.

used one of these to bleed the brakes.

ordered some calipers. Still unsure on if the master is to blame.

I'm confused by this...

Is it still hanging up?
I should have started a new thread. the caliper is not hanging up. I replaced the master and it took care of it. the new problem is a soft pedal. Have to pump up the brakes a couple times but even then the brakes suck. (line lock won't hold)
