Coyote Jack needs to jump in & post some pictures of his blown Demon.
I need to make a decision about my block. Do i make less power and use a stock block or save another 5 grand for the aluminum Rittler block... How much power are you guys making and what block are you using? Thank you.
You mean like this. lol Jack
I have a stock block and the block held up to 700 hp but unfortunately the stock balancer did not. I now am running the pulleys to a more conservative hp rating. The difference between 11 lbs of boost and 6 lbs of boost. Jack
Thanks Jack. I think im gona just use a crank hub, i dont drive the car much anyway. Real quick. Are you using stock main caps? For 600 i can get splayed billet caps add a hundo more for the girdle. The machine cost is not an issue as my machinist owes me some favors....
I have stock caps and crank. I went with Eagle H-beam rods and trw forged pistons. They are on the heavy side but that is good for standing up to the prolonged shock of ignition in the cylinder of a boosted engine. Jack
There’s got to be more than four ABodies
Ive been in the process of building one for about two years now. My stack of parts is almost complete and i am just about ready to roll the parts next door to the machine shop. I have in hand a forged Eagle stroker scrank and H beam rods. I have payed for custom pistions but have yet to decide on the height untill i pick a block. Edit- i forgot, ofcourse i have a new 6-71 from Dyers and manifold. Also two 660 center squirters that are modified, matched, flowed and powder coated. My issue is an 8-1 comp 360 (in my case 408) will put out about 300 HP. Add 7 PSI and you only at 450HP. My current build is already pushing that NA so im not willing to commit all the money untill i can come up with a good blueprint to use. Would any of you be willing to share your build? Finding folks who know how to do a Roots build is almost impossible. Thank you all and if you want i will start a new thread so this one can be just pics?
I don't get the 300 hp rating you are giving your 408. Put a good cam in it and you should easily get 450 hp before boost. I went to Steve Morris Racing to design my cam. It was matched to my entire car including me in it. A little more expensive going that route but I know the real potential of my setup. My comp ratio is 8.2 to 1 static and I am well over 400 hp before boost and depending on the amount of boost I use I can get up to 650 to 700 hp. Jack
Torqstorm on my slant.
Yeah, I don’t get the 300hp at all!? You should EASILY BE PUSHING 4-450hp and a solid 600 with a with 7 psi
That's a great testament to the stock Mopar bottom ends.
That's a very clean install!
