SO guy's I'm in my second summer with my stroked 5.7 in my Duster (carb)--I'm so impressed so far with the mpg without the efi,So I wanted to know what your getting for mpg???? - I use 112 rocket in mine and last night going to Mopar's under the lights it was 84 miles round trip and I used 5 gals. total,Which comes out to around 16 mpg and yes i was on the throttle at a few intersections (he he) my build is 06 5.7-callies stroked crank, diamond pistons, stage 4 head porting, tti headers into 3in crossover exhaust with 3in cut-outs,my displacement is 400 ci and a custom comp cam--What are u gut's getting with efi or carb????? Steve

I know I get more than 11mpg with my car but I have never actually checked it. 92 octane, 5.7L stock displacement, custom comp cam, dual quads, 8" converter, 727 trans 4.10 gear. I actually get better fuel mileage than my fathers 67" Coronet with a 400hp 345cid 318, 11" 2500 stall converter, 727, and 2.76 gears.

64 Polara 500, stockish 5.7, Tti headers, Tti full exhaust with x pipe, 8 3/4 with 3.91's, 545rfe trans (stock), Diablo canned 91 octane tune, vintage air ac/heat, and so far the best mpg is 19.

If you don't already hate me, my truck gets 25+ on the hiway and 17 - 18 around town... Thing is, it's a stock 330hp 5.7 lt1 chebby as you call them with a t56 six speed in a full size pick up and I too hit the throttle whenever I get a chance as well... :)

Let me rethink that. He gets 13mpg on the highway so I get in excess of 13mpg not 11mpg.

Just filled up the other day 20mpg.

27-30 in the 67 AWB dart we built

I'm having a hard time believing that. What is the combo?

its not mine, our shop just built it before i worked there, you would have to call Bob Reems (owner of Imagine Injection and talk to him. i know it has his injection system, T56, and an 8.75 with 4.56 gears though...

http://imagineinjection.com/

you can look up his cars (67 AWB Dart And The AFX 65 Falcon) from playboy mansion to SEMA, and Goodguys.

Still really hard to believe, especially with 4.56 gears. Hell, vettes don't get that good of mpg, and they are light weights. But, if you say that's what it gets, then I'll take your word.

Did u guy's catch the pic of the intake in hemijoejr's signature?????? one of a kind!!!!! going on his next build--A thing of beauty!!!!!!

looks like a tube intake, something like SS/AH ran as the carbs are still pretty far apart.

i'll try to get some more info on it! i didn't have a hand in building that one so i dont know it inside and out like the falcon.

I drive now since 2 years w/ the same set up. Stock 6.1, 5speed R154 Toyota Supra, 3.23 rear. Holley 750 Vac.

I measured in average speed of 100 miles/h 18 MPEG

I have 5.7 with 6.1 intake 8 1/4 rearend 93 octane. Drove to Dallas from San Antonio 340 miles filled up once. 24 mpg. I stnd on around town never checked.

For a comparison.
FYI my 2012 5.7 6-speed challenger got 23 mpg on the first tank.
I am around 17 mpg average after 5,000 miles.
Not running the car hard, just a fun ride.

Yes Ed..that donk is madness!

Re MPG...Mine is a daily through a 3800 stall, 3 speed trans and 3.89 gears - probably around 18 MPG.........My old 318/392 got 12!!
