Went to have a look and testdrive of the car today.

First thing I noticed was a slight smell of engine coolant when turning the heat on in the car. Could this be the sign of a warped head??
The engine temp did stay at normal during the testdrive.

The autotranny was distinct when shifting gears, although a bit tired with the autotranny. It was a bit better when shifting with the "autostick".
The car was all dry underneath the engine and tranny, no leaks as far as I could tell.
The foglights did not function.
There were no rust on the car and it have a nice leather interior.
Did some research at Allpar and it seems as the European version of the 2.0L engine came with dual cams and a chain timing gear.
Also got a sence of a slight vibration at low cruise speed when getting of the idle in gear.

Might be a heater core leak. Check to see if the fog lights are disconnected. The switch goes bad on those and that's the easiest way to keep the battery from going dead. All the PT's here have a 2.4 engine so I can't give any advice on a 2.0. Check engine and transmission mounts for vibration problems. Drive axles can do it too. My wife and I didn't like the leather seats. We found them too hard and also uncomfortable in extreme temperatures.....both hot and cold.....so we got the Touring Edition instead of the Limited.

Coolant smell could be a leaky heater core, was the inside of the windshield fogging up? Friends wife has one, feels kind of cheap when you are driving it. Of course it just could be hers, my friend beats the snot out of it. Have been in the thing with the ebrake on, in a full lock drift at 70mph on some of the dirt roads by him.......

I have the leather seats in my 03 GT and the wife will not let me buy her another car that does not have heated seats. We have had no issues with the comfort of the seats but I would prefer the seats with the seude inserts over the smooth perforated ones we have.

Thanks guys.
The interior does have the leather seats with suede inserts.
Here is a pic of the PT.
We´re going to pic it up this weekend, hopefully it´s a purchase that I wont regret :?
