Looking for my former 1969 Cuda 340, A56, 4 SP w/console R4 (Barracuda orange) with white interior/red trim . Purchased new in April 69 at Elmire Chrysler Plymouth, Elmira, NY. Car was last known in the Sayre,Pa , Athens Pa area. I would appreciate any information. Thank You!

Fastback or notch?

Fastback, it also had the plastic front red fender liners, radio delete, manual steering. Thanks

License plate? VIN number? Do you have any identification from the car? Or just colors?

That’s going to make finding it difficult. I wish you luck.

That's a heck of a cool optioned car.
  • 'Cuda 340
  • R4 with two-tone interior: red with white soft trim: seats, door panels, arm rests
  • Red wheel liners
  • 4 speed console
  • no radio ordered
Quite a few options for a 'Cuda model that was less expensive than a formula S.

Did it have a fold down rear seat? Those were optional on 'Cuda fastback models

I have never seen a fastback with a stationary rear seat .
I have seen one in the yard at AMS Obsolete previously known as Mitchell Auto parts. A 69 Fast back with no mechanism to fold down the rear seat.

It is a shame and takes away from a huge feature of the FastBack IMO! AMS Obsolete is in NW Georgia off Hwy 53 near Hwy 411. The owner purchased all
of Mitchell Motor Parts, including their yard of cars! He continues to but stock of failing dealers all the time! I have walked the parts warehouse and there are many goodies to be had.

Can you share more of the story regarding what happened during the initial separation from you? Was it stolen, sold or abandoned in Athens, PA?

Yes, sold to my brother, I purchased a 70 sublime Swinger 340. My brother sold it when he bought a AAR. The buyer use it as a daily driver in the near area for a few years and must have traded it because I heard that it was on a back lot of Croft Ford in Athens, PA years ago not sure from there. Thanks

OK, just found a picture from 1969 when I owned it in Waverly NY. It had a New York tag W6166, of course that' very old. Thanks

“last known in the Sayre,Pa , Athens Pa area years ago…” is 5, 15, 30 or 40 years ago?? That makes a big difference.

My '69 Formula S had those same full wheel covers on it originally.

Starting in '69 fold down rear seat was extra cost option. In '67 '68 fold down rear seat standard.

Could not have been many red Cuda 340 console 4 spd fastbacks made. Likely only one ever made optioned like that. Hopefully someone knows of the car.
