Working on installing a 5.9 magnum in my a body with the 833 4 speed just put the bell and the tranny on for a test fit. Good news the crank was drilled deep enough to accept the 4 speed so I will not have to cut the input shaft
I can't remember who, but somebody makes a 130 tooth flywheel that's balanced for a 5.9 Magnum. An LA 360 flywheel is balanced differently. Glad your crank is drilled deep enough.....now all you need is one of those roller pilot bearings.
In steel, your choice is Mopar, and maybe an aftermarket neutral wheel with bolt on weights, but that was sketchy. Did something else finally come to market?
SCIENCE FRICTION Billet Steel Flywheel, SFI Quality, 130t/10.5", 360 Magnum, 6-bolt - American Powertrain
Yep been meaning to order this only problem is that this went up $35 from a week or so ago ordered it on 3-6
@Rainy Day Auto did a post a few weeks back talking about 360 external balance Flywheels for 4 speeds. Someone had a picture for machining a flywheel to fit a 360 external balanced crank. Probably different than what you need for a Magnum 360
Yeah, Magnum is a different balance than LA360. Plus if you're going to run the factory EFI the flywheel needs the 8 pickups on the back side of the flywheel for the crank sensor.
Noticed your header says push the button reminds me of an early b I saw long ago that had a saying on the trunk "RUN IT TILL IT RATTLES THEN PUSH A BUTTON"
When I swapped a 5.9 into my car, I had the 360 and the 5.9 flywheels sitting next to each other for a minute. The holes on the 5.9 are smaller and in different spots.
For the sake of anyone planning to try this, the diagram should be clearly labelled, MAGNUM, or LA. Also, the angle on the drill point should be specified in order for it to be accurate.
