Been having some issues with my right knee lately and today it came to a head. Pulled the truck into the garage to work on my amateur radio antenna and when I stepped out of the truck something snapped in the back of my knee and if I hadn't been close to the Cuda to catch my fall I would have went down. I've had numerous kidney stones and 2 back surgeries and have 4-5 migraines a month but this pain beat them all. Hurt so bad I shook all over for about 10 minutes. Had to use a broom as a crutch to get to the house. That 40 ft seemed like it'd never end.

Wouldn't you know this would happen now as I have several jobs lined up. But isn't that always how it goes, lol...

Dang Tracy. I sure wish we were local. I would be glad to help out. Kitty and I will add you to our prayer list.

I know how you feel. I have lived with knee pain most of my life. It all came to a head about 18 months ago. I woke up one morning with a 2 inch diameter bruise on the inside of my left knee. No idea where it came from but the pain was unbelievable as soon as I moved. Since then I have had my right hip replaced. Not related but was already in the works. After x-rays and MRI's they told me I had a torn meniscus. Recently after a few cortisone shots my knee seemed to be feeling a little better. Then another MRI and a trip to the doctor to get more cortisone. As of right now, this is the least amount of pain I have felt since that first morning I woke up with the bruise. The doc says the torn meniscus has just about healed itself so surgery won't be needed but that the arthritis which he felt may have contributed to the torn meniscus some how was getting worse. Just wanted to let you know that sometimes knees do get better without surgery. Good luck with yours, I know how bad it can be.

And the other side of the coin, I suffered with serious knee pain for years. Like throw up in trash can from nausea type pain. Full confession I never quit playing ice hockey. Anyway I finally had total knee replacement surgery last year. Smartest thing I have done in a long time. I can even sleep again. Should you want any insight on that drastic of a solution send me a PM and I will answer any question you may have within my limited ability. I had 3 surgeries spanning twenty or thirty years on my knees prior to titanium! I understand knee pain.

One Sunday AM I was out at the barn feeding, on foot. All of a sudden I could hardly just stand, bought went to my knees!!! I finally held my leg stiff and got myself back to the house. That 200ft seemed like 5 mles!!
I was a mess for hours. Went to doc next day, and he jus matterly of fact, says, a piece of cartlidge came loose and was just sorta floating around!! That was 4- years ago. Never happened to that extent since, but sometimes it will get to feeling like it is about to. If I squat or move odd, I an feel a problem ready to occur! I just hope I never need a joint replaced.

Over the counter Lidocaine patches and a good knee brace might get you through the jobs at least.
Those patches are pretty good at killing pain in specific spots without making you feel drugged like orally taken pain killers.

Patellar tendon grenaded here. Sounded like a gunshot, pain lasted 10 minutes, could not get my foot on the foot peg on the motorcycle, I knew I was hurt then.

I got hit 45 years ago but a drunk at 85 in a big Merc., head on. What a thud! It shattered my kneecap cut two tendons clean into. It healed but it took a year before that leg would bend half way back. That leg is a little shorter than the other! Don't realize if till in the saddle, one stirrup is a hair shorter. Drove me nuts all these years. That probably had an effect on cartlidge in that knee.

Be prepared.

After dealing with a torn miniscus for 20 years I finally had it fixed.

Doctor scraped bone spurs at the time.

A year later my knee is back to swelling and snapping.

My fault more than likely. I make a very bad patient. That day I was up and walking around, despite doc's orders.

Take it easy.

You'll be added to the prayer list.

See a good orthopaedic surgeon SOON!

I've had 8 knee surgeries. The last three are total replacements. As Sublime said, don't torture yourself unnecessarily.

I tore my right inside meniscus years ago and had several cortisone shots and finally operated on. 3 months later the same Doctor operated on it again. I finally went to another Doctor and with a fresh MRI he told me the first Doctor really BUTCHERED my knee and had to operate again. He said by then arthritis was going to be a BIG issues from the operations. In 2015 I was walking 4 miles a day 5-6 times a week. 2017 now retired my left knee started acting up. I'm getting by but with both knees now being affected mt co pays are to high to have a knee replacement. I'm almost 63 now but will probably have to put it off until 65 when I get Medicare. I looked into Stem Cell treatments but it was about 7500.00 per knee. Now kicking around trying some of those cremes made from Marijuana.

My father had stem cell done on his knee. He is 78. Surgery/injection was last year. Just had a checkup and he gained 2mm of space. He could not be more thrilled with how good the knee feels. Got it done in Fayetteville Ark. cost him right at 5k. He is thrilled

Thanks everyone for the comments. It's feeling some better. At least I can walk again but I'm taking it real easy. Putting on my shoes is one of the hardest things cause it don't like to bend so I can reach it good and if I try to just force my foot in the shoe the pain is real bad. Getting an MRI on it tuesday and scheduling a visit to a specialist. Hoping he's a good one and not a butcher
