Making voltage regulator for dash gauges

I've seen that thread before, but now i cant seem to find it. It was how to build a voltage regulator to mount into dash for 1965 valiant and others. It used radio shack parts. Any pros or cons on doing this? And, if someone can locate it, send m in the right direction. Thx stoney

I guess yours is inside the fuel gauge? You'll need to do some surgery there

That is what I did back when I was dealing with that. (built one and it worked great)
Now that regulator does duty as the charger for my Kindle Fire mounted in the car.
