Last summer I installed Mancini's XHD rear springs on my '68 Barracuda. These have the extra leaf so I assume that's what you're referring to. So far no problems. They lifted the car +2" as the literature said. It has settled a bit though-maybe 1/2". Firmed up the ride too. Good purchase IMO. Hope this helps.

    Nice and firm good handling.

If you like the rear end up, they are fantastic. i had them on my challenger and loved them. Just recently bought super stock leafs from Mancini for my 69 Dart, to be installed by next week!

I prefer the super stock springs myself.

What is the price you got for the springs? I just ordered a set of EHD from my local Dodge dealer.

As I have found out these leaf springs are not a unbolt the old and throw in the new. My bushings were shot in the front but the springs came with new ones but the bolt size was bigger. So I had to buy bolts. And of course the mount bracket hole for the bolt to pass thru was to small so I had to buy a new mounting bracket. While I was at it I decided to replace the rear shackles as well. Got the box home and the bushings are the wrong size (to small). So I have to make another trip to Mancini s to get even more parts. My suggestion to anyone buying the heavy duty replacement springs, budget for all the hardware as well.

My new springs bolted up with no problems. But I got mine from my local mopar dealer, but I think they are the same springs as yours.

I installed them on a friends 68 six cylinder Dart I did have to open up the front spring hanger bolts and we did have to shim the 7 1/4 differential to fix the pinion angle. After that everything was good.

Darren, don't know how you could have had a direct bolt in, not trying to call you out but if necessary I can show you pics of my situation. If that isn't enough I can also take measurements to prove that my factory springs eyelets are smaller, in which case you will have to modify your mounting brackets to accept the new springs. Therefore the replacement springs cannot be a direct bolt in!

If we are all talking about the same springs my XHD's from Mancini bolted up perfectly without changing anything and I was replacing original springs. They came with new bushings too. You have to realize that with our older cars many things have been done to them prior to our ownership that can cause issues like this.

I think what everyone who has had to open up the hole for the front spring bolt is missing is that 6 cylinder cars came with the smaller holes and V8's got the larger. When I bought my springs from ESPO they asked what size I needed and sent the right springs. It's all well documented if someone wants to use the search engine.
