I just bought like-new Cragar wheels with like-new BFG TAs already on them. The price was right so I snatched them up. Now that I have them, I need to determine if they will fit my 70 Swinger with stock front suspension, stock rear spring location, and Ford 9” rear, all LBP hubs. I don’t want to modify spring location or wheel wells or fenders. I’m hoping someone has this exact setup or similar and can provide firsthand experience and advice.

I’ve looked at other posts and found some info but nothing matching my specs.

    Cragar S/S Std offset wheels
    Front 15x7, 235/60-R15
    Rear 15x8, 275/60-R15

Of course the guy who sold them to me assured me they will fit but I honestly think the tires are too big. I do have a 71 Challenger I can put the tires on if so.

I think the fronts will fit on the back! Then go 15x6 front.

I’m on my way to the tire shop now to buy 205‘s for the front and 245s for the rear. I’ll either sell the other tires out right or put them on the Challenger. I’m not completely sure the 275s will fit the Challenger. It has 235s all the way around right now

My '71 Swinger came with BFG TAs on back, size P225/70R14. These were mounted on stock 5.5" Chrysler Rallye wheels. The suspension is 100% stock. This tire fit in the rear wheelwell but could not be removed without lifting the car by the frame and letting the axle drop to its lowest point. The 60 series might help, as it's a lower profile, but for me it was the section width that caused the interference.

Thanks guys. It’s done. Wheels are Cragar SS 15x8 rear and 15x7 front. Tires are BFG 245/60-15 rear and 205/60-15 front. I will put them on the car when it comes back from the shop.

Now I need a pair of 15x8 rally’s so I can mount the used BFGSs on my 71 Challenger!

Awesome! Couple questions Bob if I may:
        1. Is your 9" rear factory width?
        2. Are the 15x8's standard offset?
        Thanks.

Yes and yes (actually no) the BS/offset is very high but I have 2” spacers bringing the wheel back to center. So for all intents and purposes it is 0 offset

It might make a big difference as to what the Ford 9" rear is originally off of - different vehicles may have different widths.
I may have missed that fact, but don't remember seeing it in the thread.

Well it has 245/40-18s on there now and they have about 3/8” clearance to the springs and about the same on the fenders. I have air shocks on it too

I just ordered the steel wheels - 15x6's for the front of my 69 Swinger and 15x7's for the back from Coker and I have 215/65x15 and 235/70x15 redlines to put on them. From what I read here there shouldn't be problems.....hopefully!
