Metal trim reattachment ?

Does anyone have better ideas about attaching metal trim besides how originally was through holes and lame nuts and some broken studs?... thank you for looking

I added door and 1/4 belt line trim to my Dart and didn't want to drill all those holes for trim clips. Used 3M Auto grade double back adhesive tape. Been on there for 15 years plus.

Did you had to double or triple it up on thicker pieces ?

The trim was consistent on dimensions so I only applied 1 layer.

On small emblems and trim stuff I use Permatex RTV holds very tight, no holes or water and debris getting behind. Mask off the area with blue painters tape and clean
off RTV residue with alcohol. Hold it in place with blue tape for 24hrs while drying.
