I have these 2 cams for the build so whichever fits this 340 build the other will go into the 360 I posted earlier. Comp 270 magnum 110LC. 270 duration and 470 lift. Lunati 108LC 292 duration and 480 lift. Bored .030, 10.5 TRW pistons, 2.02 J heads stock 4 bbl intake, stock rockets, adjustable pushrods. This is just a cruiser. Thanks. Kim
 
That comp magnum cam works pretty good in a near 9:1 360 installed advanced four degrees. And because you have a proper positive deck height 340 with 10-1/2:1 and 2.02 J heads, the big Lunati (Bracket Master, 230@.050, I believe?) goes in it for the win. Still great for "just a cruiser" with plenty of "tire show ability."

There is 4* ground into the comp 270. Are u saying to go to 102 or so? Thanks. Kim
 
What is your rear end gear ratio and transmission type. All in all those two camshafts will perform pretty similar. I like a 108 lobe separation in my 340s that would be my choice for that motor.
 
With that gear ratio I would probably actually lean towards the Magnum 270. both cams are a little large for 323s but will work.
 
For the cruiser I think you would be happier with the 270. May be a tad high on the compression for it though.

Hell yeah. I had.....of all brands an Alliance cam.....remember them?.... in a Chevy 350 in a Nova when I was a kid.....think 10th grade, know nuthin dumbass......much like now. If I remember right it was .480 292 (236 @.050 on either a 109 or 107) LSA was an odd number I remember.....that was RIGHT when Harold Brookshire was working with or consulting for Alliance and General Kinetics. It had an even worse gear than yours......a 3.08. lol But we recurved the distributor in auto shop class and stabbed the cam in real low....102 rings a bell.....it was whatever our auto shop instructor recommended. It even had the old Edelbrock Scorpion intake. That was the forerunner to the Victor and a 3310. We never raced it, but it was far from slow.



.....and it sounded dang good. LOL

Ya, I remember all that old stuff. I liked the way the 292/480 in a 350 Chevy ran
