Has anyone used the milodon or moroso lifter valley baffles on a magnum engine with the stock hydraulic roller lifters?? I know their website says not to be used with magnums but why can't this baffle be bolted on top of the plate the magnums already have that hold the dogbones??
Nope. And, I’m not sure that HRT’s will fit in there. I did one years ago and I had to hack it up to get even SFT’s in there.
Well in a way the valley baffle is still doing some good even with an air gap. You are correct in that with temperature it's not doing much. The baffle is keeping oil closer to the lifter area and not just splashing everywhere plus bottom of intake stays cleaner. Just my opinion. @yellow rose So the holes were to small for the lifters? Thats odd as the lifter bore size is .904 for small blocks.
Why on earth worry about the bottom of the intake? If you're using the Airgap, the baffle will be of absolutely zero benefit. Waste of money and effort.
Yeah, the thing hit everything...the pushrods hit the top of the holes...it needed excessive trimming everywhere. I thought about trying another one since that was probably 1984 when I bought the thing. Then I decided it’s just wasn’t worth the work, and I bought a crank scraper instead. Much better money spent.
If you tube the block like should be done with solid lifters (and even with hydraulic lifters since you can drill a small hole in the tube to feed the lifter) then it won’t matter if a lifter comes out of the bore, as far as oil pressure is concerned.
Don't waist your time or money. There is a better cheaper method. You all just have to use your heads. You don't need the large openings above the cam so eliminate them. Very cheap My son does it to most screamers that leave here. Race motors don't have them.
