Been checking the internet for photos of chrome mopar rallies mounted on mopar cars. I love the factory rally wheel look but want to eliminate the trim rings. I had a Chevelle with 500's and trim rings but the rings scratch the paint and just a pain all around. So I'm looking at chrome for my 72 Demon. Found only one picture on internet. Anyone?

I agree. I think because of the profile of the wheel, it would be hard to keep rust from forming on chrome wheels in the area between the rim and the center.
I also don't like the way the trim rings scratch the painted surface of the rim. I'll see if I can send some pics of my wheels.

The first image is just a painted rally. I can't remember if I powder coated or just sprayed it.
the second pic is a painted police wheel. A Mopar friend, John Cole, painted them for me. It was supposed to be like the textured Argent finish on magnum gt wheels, but he ended up with his own version with sparkles in the paint. It's not exactly what I wanted, but they look good in their own rite. Sorry they are so dirty, cars haven't moved in over 20yrs. 20211005_135652.jpg 20211005_135517.jpg

Pore plating job or cleaning before plating, no copper, no nickle before chrome. If it is done right they hold up good. Remember old car bumper's
they would rust out from behind and the chrome looked great.

Yeah, I was looking at the Vintiques 49 series and don't want to use a trim ring. Looking at the 15X7 BB 4.25BS front and the 15X8 BB 4.5BS back. I've a 8 3/4 diff with a 73 disk front and drum back brakes on a 72 Demon. Big bolt all around.

Looks good Kegan B on that Duster. Not worried about the rust, mine won't see much rain while I'm alive. After that, who gives a crap.

I had a 2002 1500 Ram that rusted in the bottom of doors and tail gate. A mechanic buddy of mine told me to spray the weep holes with WD-40 once in awhile. No problems with my 2014 Ram, so far. Besides I'll be moving south in a year or two. If I don't see snow again, I'm ok with that.

Yup, I wasn't too impressed with them.

Car never really saw rain with them is the bad part.

I know you shouldn't have to but I wonder if you could spray them with a clear paint. Not sure it wouldn't make a mess if the clear didn't hold up.

20211006_001347.jpg Picture of a picture of wife's new 86 Trans Am and my 73 Dart 340 Sport. I had a local wheel widening guy cut the chrome rim from American 200S wheels and weld it to painted rally centers. Goodyear Polyglas F70s up front, L60s on the rear. One of my all time biggest regrets was letting that car go.

There are at least two companies making chrome mopar rallies. Vintiques with the 49 series and U.S. Wheel's 668 series. The U.S. Wheel 668 is about $40-50ea. more than the Vintiques series 49. Cost does mean quality in some cases. Just want the better one, so which is it?

Yep, think I’m going with this wheel. 15X8 BB 4.5bs on rear with a 255-60-15 tire. Also think I’m going with a 215-65-15 on front but not sure on front wheel. U. S. Wheel has a 15X6 with 4.5bs, a 15X7 with 4.5bs and a 15X7 with 4.25bs. This is on a 72 Demon 8 3/4 diff. 5373A5FE-01CE-407E-8B3F-FE7C9577AAFB.png with 73 disk front and all 4.5 bolt pattern. Everything stock, springs, wheel wells etc.

This is funny, Jegs also shows a 15X7 with a 3.75bs but the U. S. Wheel web site does not.
