Anyone running this pan with less than 8 qts. I run mine with 7 just wondering.

I have that pan on my current build. Almost ready to add oil and prime and was wondering this exact thing.
Are you using that pan in the car in your avatar? That thing looks mighty low. You haven’t smashed it yet?

I have run extra capacity pans with a quart less and had no issues, I now use custom aluminum pans but my first engine was with that pan and all was good.

Im running it at 7 thought about 6 but didnt. Its in a Drag car.

I use a large WIX filter and usually run 7 in the engine and 1 in the filter

Used quite a few of those pans on different makes in the 70s/80s. Pretty hard to pump one dry with reasonable oil pressure, 70lbs and under. Especially in a quarter mile car. Unless your launching 4' in the air, 7 or even 6 qts shouldn't be a issue. One exception was a 428 fe Ford i did that had 95/100 lbs of pressure. Those engines required that for those heavy *** cranks, lol.
