A small block in an a-body is tight enough for me...

I wouldn't want to try working on a big block in one...

Looks like a 283 or 400 block to me . U have way way more room than I do w/ a 440/505 and raised port heads in a 68 !!
 
Running a 440/4speed, 915 close chamber heads. 484 hyd. cam. 10.5 bellhousing ,489 3rd member with 3.91 posi. Rearend shortened by 5in. Put springs in frame rails.
