I posted some pictures of my 69 Dodge previously, but I figured I would start a thread to chronicle the work that I am going to try to do going forward. I figured I would start with a few pictures as she sits currently. Thankfully, I can now patrol the streets for now as well. I had to work out some kinks with the motor and ultimately bolted on an Edelbrock Performer 600 cfm carb. I also had to get rid of the dry rotted tires. And I painted the stock wheels black. Some more serious tear down will start in the garage this winter. In the meantime, we already started by resurfacing the roof. I am also pulling the fender trim to make it a smooth line. I suspect this car will turn into something of a GTS clone/custom car. Needless to say, here she is in streetable condition for now.

That's my other toy on the left.

Here is the motor currently as well. I added the Mopar air cleaner for symmetry. As mentioned, I also added an Eddy carb. I have replaced the plugs, installed new valve cover gaskets, new radiator hose, new thermostat, new coil, new fuel pump, new water temp sending unit, and new gas tank and sending unit.

I will try to continuously update as I move along, but I am going to keep it on the street for a little while longer while we still have some nice driving weather.

Very cool... enjoy her! Ive been driving mine as I restore and glad I did. Not planning on doing a show car. Just want to have a nice driver. Spending more time driving that restoring unfortunately. lol
My brother-in-law took apart his very driveable 67 Mustang for a frame off restore as soon as he got it... and its been sitting in his garage for 5+yrs. In boxes with no time to work on it. Never got a chance to enjoy it and now talkin about selling.

Good luck- look forward to watching your progress.

i'd keep it a GT that is very classy

i would NOT do a serious tear-down. that will put you back a few years. keep her going. build a replacement small block in your garage & keep workin the body in your spare time. that way you can keep driving her enjoying her and make progress all along.

too many times i've seen guys pull them down, then never get them back together and eventually the wife makes them sell so they dont have a mess all over the garage. ;)

Yup i agree
Keep it a Gt and drive it as you do it.

Beautiful ride. Looks like solid metal and nice chrome. Good luck.
