No doubt. A few years back there was a Duster at the local drag strip with a truck engine in it. Damn did that thing sound sweet.

What is the deck height on those? Do they use the 273, 318, 340 crank main journal size? Just Curious. What do the heads flow?

I would like to know more as well. What are all the differences? How much would it take to complete a motor like this ?

Its taken over a year just to assemble the simple engine Im building now...lol

why does the R5 block use .870 lifters?

This is the list of parts I have:

MOPAR R5 Block. NEW never assembled. 4.170" bore, 8.85" deck height, .870" lifter bores. Cross bolted, 4 bolt main bearing caps. This block requires final finish honing of the cam and main bearing bores, and some deburring. Includes plugs for water jackets and oil squirters for piston cooling. (Summit sells this block new for over $4900, but you may find a block on Ebay for $1200 or so.)

That deck height seems really short. Wonder if it was cut from 9.00? I had an Arrow timing chain cover that was an R5 piece, didnt fit my 360. ports were too tall IIRC
