Need advice on 68 dart new rear shock fitment

Rebuiding my 68 dart w/ 83/4. Moved rear end back 1" with 3/4 inch inboard kit. My new
monroe shocks won't fit. The angle to great to fit on bottom mount! Would I have modify
rear shock mount or is there another shock plate that might work? Any ideas would be
appreciated! D.dog

Dont know if anyone makes one, but a new shock mount on the axle could be easily fabbed up to get you some clearance.

Definitly easier than messing w/ the top mounts !

If you do a google search for 8 3/4 shock mounts I think you get some good results for options.

I've put that inboard relocation kit into 2 Darts now and never ran into that problem. Are you sure they sent you the right new shocks? When you say you moved the rear end "back 1 inch" do you mean toward the back of the car in addition to moving the springs in?

One more thought, are you trying to put them on with the whole rear axle hanging from the springs? If so put something under the rear axle and jack it up in relation to the body... That's the way it is when the car is on the wheels, even in a serious jounce the axle would never hang down that far.

Or slide them in the lower studs first. May help Kim
