hey everyone i was wondering if i could use stock 360 valve springs witha mopar performance .474 lift cam. i am running out of money and wanted to see if that was possible

IMO, that would be the best bet since there a matched set and set up that way. There not to expensive and will bolt right on without machine work like springs from Comp Cams would need.

I know the "Running outta money deal" just relax and wait, it'll be worth it.

haha well thanks i guess that solves that. i will need the MP red springs i assume?

Check the price on those red springs than check out comps springs 901-16 I paid 80 bucks,I have the 474 mopar purple cam in my 360 idles lumpy but pulls real strong.

Hey Sanke. What are the MP springs going for these days?
They were allways compareable IIRC and I get great deals directly from my MP parts dealer. Cash is even better. LOL! No taxes. Shhhhhhhhh

ok and another thing. i will not be using 2.02 intakes or 1.60 exhausts so my heads wont be flowing as well as i had planned. i bought an MP single plane intake. will that work ok with my heads not flowing as well

With that intake your going to need a stiff gear 3000 stall and your foot into it all day,no good for a stop light to stop light car.The ld340 intake is a good choice.

No clue thatsss why I said check out the prices, however if he can install the MP springs and no machine work involved that's a good deal. For me I sent my heads out for a rebuild and they cut the guide down some and had to adjust the spring heights a tad.I like to avoid the taxessss also LOl.

go with a dual plane intake, comp springs unless you can get a deal on the mp springs.

the mp #847 springs work good and drop right in no machining required.

the comps also drop right on.

About .500 lift is when you need to check retainer/seal/guide contact.
Then consider the 1.45 ratio and actual lift being closer to .440
