the dumb numbers on the starboard side, behind the Alternator read:

B 225 9 21

what year is this engine? i am not the PO so i am beginning to think (who me!?) that this engine is not the original one on my 66 Valiant.

numbers on the block: 081 95 2468430 - 11

My guess. Is the engine a slant 6 ie B 225
Also if it is a /6, there's info if you do a search on this forum about "how to id slant 6"

I used this info to confirm the year info on my 64 Dart.
Early Valiant Barracuda Club - engine casting numbers

Looks like yours was manufactured in '66 by the 'B'.

thanks for the info.... i would have responded sooner, but i forgot that i had to sign in again!! with that letter "B" wonder if this engine originated in a Baracuda?? no complaints on my engine, fires right up and runs great, has a Holley 1920 on it now. stay safe. thanks
