I have been working with acme headliner for the pass 8 or 9 mos. To help them design a new headliner for the 72 and newer duster / dart. After all the negative thing I read on the plastic board they have I made a call to them and talk with them about the things I was reading . After talking with them they said what can we do to make it better. I told them they need to make it out of board like the original. So I sent them the headliner out of my car and after I did that sending headliners to test fit and give them feedback so after doing this for mouths we finally got it right. You can get yours at any dealer that has Acme Auto Headliner product ( stock interiors ) part#AFH7276 the board come cut in half but comes with everything you need to make it one piece. If y'all have any question let know.

If your was to see the difference in the two boards. The new board is the better of the two and a lot easier to install and looks a lot better. Once the board is unfolded and the backing is on you can't tell it was cut. I have worked with both boards

looks like a nice piece, I too had rather have it made of original material! you should be commended for getting all that done.

I have to admit I have "evolved" (?) to where I am content to leave the headliner completely out of my ear A cars!! clean it up and spray it with "body Schultz!"..... go figure?

It looks like from your pics that this new headliner is made of cardboard with a felt or material overlay

Just wondering...My 72 is just a painted board of some type. It's never been removed, so I can't be sure.

Aggressive rocker panel covering, rubberized. Stuff is bulletproof, tougher than standard undercoating.

Sheesh...Some times the negativity is palatable. :wack: Your to be commended for taking on such a project and helping to develop a new and much needed product. I for one thank you. Due to the lack of good board headliner availability I was going to leave mine out also. Now maybe I have an alternative.

Look it up probably not listed for a 72 you'll have to look at 73 +

OK I did it for you http://www.acmeautoheadlining.com/scamp.html

You'll have to buy some material and make your own sail panels pretty easy to do
As I recall the holes are not cut all the way through you have to finish cutting them
      as needed
