Rebuilding my 7 1/4" rear end in my 65 Cuda. New seals, new bearings, wheel cylinders, New leaf springs from Espo, Bilstein shocks, new brake lines and T valve....Here is the question....
Pre bent lines have a longer sleeve with a regular metal fitting and also a shorter sleeved brass fitting. (see Pic) The brake lines are roughly pre bent. Everything went together great except I am wondering if I put the wrong end in the valve and wheel cylinder on one side? Brass to brass? I'd rather not go backwards unless I need to.

It probably doesn't matter but I would thread the longer steel nut into the wheel cylinder and the short brass nut into the "t".

The nut with longer hex does go at the wheel cylinder but if they both make up the same, no leak, no worries.

agreed

But since the lines are dry, I recommend to slide those nuts back and apply anti- seize to the tubes, then reinstall. Dissimilar metals tend to corrode by electrolysis, and some years later become fused.
With anti-seize, mine were still fresh as new after 5 years.
