Hi all have a question. Does this pitting ruin the possibility of rebuilding this brake caliper. 75 duster stock front discs

Hone it and see.

If the piston has a seal on it that rides up and down in the bore past that point it might be an issue.

Got a Dremel with a "flap wheel" or just use sandpaper, emery cloth, twisting it around in the bore.
You should be ok as the piston seal is at the top of bore, and not on the piston itself.

A rebuilder can bore it out and re-sleeve it if necessary.
Ya, that's true, but you can purchase a store bought rebuilt caliper, lots cheaper that what a re-sleeving company will be charging you.
Nothing out of the ordinary in the way of a caliper for a 75 Duster.

The seal rides on the piston. If the piston is clean and free of pits it will seal. It is the diameter of the bore that is critical. To tight it may bind . to loose it may **** and bind. Rebuilds are cheap I would replace them unless they are not available. Its what stops the car????
