New Taylor 10.4 mm wires Blows Distributor Cap Off

We can not figure this out. Spent hours customizing the new wire set from old 8mm set to (Taylor ThunderVolt 50 10.4mm Spark Plug Wire Sets 98055). ran fine down the road. Put under load and it blows the cap half off. Tried a few times. We put the old wires back on and no problem under load! Any thoughts??

LOLOL No idea. Check each wire for continuity. Make ABSOLUTE CERTAIN you have / had the firing order correct. 5/7 is easy to switch!!!

What is your application? Do you really need those fat wires? Are you running a vented cap?

Right angle boots at cap, give more hood clearance.

Kinda where I am at, perhaps when enough torque is applied the engine moves enough to knock the cap loose if those stiff wires are hitting the firewall or hood.
