Hello, just bought a 72 duster and it needs a few things, so thought this is the place to get info.

Funny you mention tail lights, I got this car from a guy who got it from some crack heads wife, the crack head knocked out the tail lights, the grill and rear window. Yeah, didn't know about the one year only tail lights till after i bought the car.

I spent 3 years looking for a backup set for mine. Check “Daper Lighting” out or Novato Ca. They make some aftermarket ones for Demon & 70/71 they might do 72’s. It’s been a while since I looked. Also MrMoparts out of AZ.

the good news is, you can swap in a grille from a 69 valiant pretty effortlessly and it will be the best looking grille you ever saw in a duster

the bad news is, those grilles use the same parking lights as the 69 daytona and they get expensive quickly

How about some pictures of your Duster?
We love pictures!

Pics of the car, I got this last week, the engine was new and never been "ran" just idled around. So I pulled it out and put it on the Dyno. Made 440hp with 915 heads and 93 octane fuel. The car is a wannbe race car, narrow 8.75 rearend a few roll bars (some in the wrong location).

My current relic was a wannabe racecar too, cheap *** roll bars poorly welded in, nitrous system, hacked up floor, fuel cell, huge hole in the hood with the air filter sticking out.

As bought condition, after it sat in a field for several years. Seized engine, cracked block, caved in quarter panel.

If you get a line on some 72 tail lights please let me know. I have found one LS light all cracked to hell.

I would do a "wanted"ad here and maybe the A body sites on FB. You can find such on Feebay but will usually cost more. A good one might run ya $100 I bet.
I've had quite a few 70-2 Dusters and I really miss my last one I sold 4 years ago.
Hard to find a decent project and a done one with any V8 get pricey!!

nice! see that you got long tube heaters. What size carb are you using? Compression ratio?

well they are hooker headers, they are 2" primary length is 42"LOL. It has a 950 holley on it. It is a brand new engine. I going to put in back on the dyno and play with it a little, change intakes, carb ect. compression is 11 to 1
