Whichever slant you go with, it'd be nice to use a non-EGR head. Sometime in the 70s when emissions came about, they started using EGR. Not that the slant six heads flow phenomenally anyway.

Offf topic, but I need a GOOD slant any size,, the 170 in the Toad is TOASTED! NEED in TX or LA!

Also to take out the lifters on a cast crank six you have to remove the head
