Not all on Hellebuyck, the team has collapsed in front of him after the second St. Louis goal, which was without a doubt another soft one. Jets should have challenged the first goal for interference on Buchnevich. May not have won the challenge, but there was a possibility of winning it. Penalty kill has been strong this game and early on it would have been worthwhile to try it.
Four goals in just over 5 minutes is totally unacceptable regardless, but the play that DeMelo was sleeping on and made no effort to recover is inexcusable, left Hellebuyck out to dry. Jets had zero shots on goal for some 11 minutes, going into the 4th minute of the third period.
 
I somewhat agree, you analyze it better than me, but Hellnback absolutely sucks, sorry. There is a mental frackup going on.
His road stats and overall stats in playoffs are absolutely brutal. Its a recurring theme year after year. STOP THE PUCK!
To add...going from a Vezina lock to this is incredible. I hope he figures it out!

Oh there's little to no doubt that something goes south mentally in Hellebuyck's head come playoff time, his stats tell the true tale and it's really ******* frustrating. How the hell can a guy win 3 ******* Vezina trophies, and be so ineffective in the post season?
 
It's BEYOND weird. When he came out earlier in week and said "no-one studies goaltending more than me"
WTH is that comment for lol? All your playoff stats suggest otherwise.

I understand this sentiment exactly, as I too am sick and tired of my team getting kicked-out again in the first round.

I have quite a few projects I need to get to around here, and I'm considering "dumbing down" my cable TV subscription so I don't get into the "I'm just gonna check real quick to see what's on the tube...." habit, and waste so much time. Perhaps you can find/do something similar.....
 
This is only the 2nd time in 20 years the Leafs have advanced to 2nd round. As bad as that is, Leafs still have twice the Stanleys that Boston does. :lol:

Well my Avs are done. Rantanen exploded in the 3rd with 3 goals and an assist to beat the Avs.

That must have been a tough 3rd period for you to watch. When they were leading 2-0 after the 2nd I was really hoping they could pull it out, but the ice was tipped in the Stars favor for the last 20 minutes, it seemed.
 
Incredible how a start of a series goes a certain "way", then the media rides/creates the hype so much it makes it look doom and gloom.
Raantanens 2nd goal off Girard was a total fluke goal to offset the one from previous game that went in off Stars shoulder.
Rants tied the same record he did in game 6 for 4 points in a period, and also set one with a game 7 hat trick in a period.
1st round series are usually the best.
Peg/Lou should be good tonight.

I do think that Jamie Benn should have been tossed for his cross check to the face of Nichushkin and the holding call with four minutes to go was total BS. With that said, the Avs just didn't get it done. The Avs special teams just was awful.
 
BRING BACK THE ENFORCERS. LET THE BOYS PLAY. BENN IS 1 OF THE DIRTIEST PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE. GO BLUES!!!!!!
 
Time management for the Jets 5 remaining dmen is not going to help the longer the game goes on!
