Noisy 8.25" Rear - 2.76 Ratio

This rear had new gears ,a while ago, by the previous Owner. Don't know how many miles. -- -- It whines to the point of being annoying. -- Can it be adjusted, or will I need new gears ?

First, I don't think that any 8 1/4" axle ever came with that ratio. The closest I know of is a 2.71.
Secondly, sometimes the noise is due to a bearing and the ring and pinion are fine. If this is the case, a shop can replace the bearing and send you on your way.
