this is my new kevco pan as recieved new out of the box
On my Kevko pan I had to meticulously clean all the welding slag out of it and there was lots.Other then that everything else was good.
Now what? How about explaining what you are trying to ask?
i called kevco and that was his response didn't you read the directions it say's to wipe out pan. if you look closely the coating what ever it is. is popping off of the rusty welds so where and when does this coating stop popping off? after it has plugged up the pickup screen or perhaps after it has circulated thru the motor? his response was it's hard times in america.total cost for pan, pickup and stud was 452.96 total cost for ruined motor about 8000.00 now that's hard times in america
i guess not really a question but more of a post on a quality issue. in most forum's with the older cars discussion is often about how the younger crowd is not picking up the hobby and it's doomed. if you are building cars today from the ground up the bigger threat is the lack of pride or care in the part's people are selling. and that's not saying all manufactures don't care because i have gotten nice parts. i think that is one of the benifits of these forums is to show this. kevco has a made in usa sticker on there pan and box and the paper in the box say's each pan is inspected before shipped. if i had a question it would be if you were making pan's would you ship this pan out?
Send it back, or blast/paint yourself. They should be ashamed.
What are they, selling junk now? Sure proud of it.
This I agree with. If someone makes crap parts, let us know. Word of mouth is huge and spreads like wildfire. Let him know you are a member here. Send the pan back and ask for a refund. He'll soon realize that "hard times in America" means he's going out of business because he is producing junk. BTW, I can't believe a business person actually said that to you. What a f#ckin moron!!
Call customer service, they should attempt to make it right. (Don't send it back for a refund unless they plan on FULLY refunding you, don't let them subtract a BS restocking or shipping fee either.) If not? If you paid by credit card, call your CC company, and file a complaint. I had to call Visa, who credited my account $1700 and they reached out to the lousy business, in this case a moving company that tried fleecing me.. If the business doesn't fight them on the payment, case closed, you were just reimbursed.
Take it to a machine shop and it have "cleaned". They will blast and jet wash it at the very least when they see it.. Then just oil the inside and paint the out and run it. I'd be more concerned that it leaked by the looks of the welds... Maybe fill it and let it sit a day or so.. I'm not sold on 450 dollar pans these days, but only because i own 2 milodons and a couple baffled stockers.
Wow, that is some crap quality control there.
Send it back. F!#$ IT
As my Grandfather, a WW2 ground pounder would have said, " Not No, But Hell F'N NO" that is crap work. And you paid alot for it. They Need to make it right....
ups is to pick this pan up today and i never want to see or hear of it again(after i get my card credited of course). i honestly in 50 years of building cars have never seen such a piece of new work sold by a manufacture. it had more issues than the coating popping off. the ugly bird shit welds would have more than likely leaked, then there is these 3 trap doors with crudely made hinges that were either stuck open or shut did not swing by there self
Good for you! Let them know how dissatisfied you were and that you shared your sentiments on this forum. Maybe there's a chance he will make it right.
