oil plate nipple

The threaded nipple MP 53007563AB that the oil filter plate attaches with, is that a special thread (maybe 3/4-16 or 20?) or 2 different threads or can I make one with a close nipple and a lock nut? Also, is there a difference between the magnum plates and the LA plates? Some guy got a plate that is too flat so the outboard sealing surface does not bottom out in the gasket recess like it should and thinks he was given a Magnum piece.
