The needle on my OPG is buried to the left and doesn't move. I replaced the Sending unit and nothing changed. I am pretty sure the gauge is dead but hate driving the car with the slim possibility that oil pressure could be low or nill. So my question is: When the key is in the on position does the OPG gauges on old Mopars (1966 barracuda 273 btw) move to zero? This would make me feel better at least until I get to the auto parts store and get a mechanical gauge.

Oh and also, if I disconnect the wire from the sending unit, wouldn't the gauge go all the way to the right?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

You know, that makes absolute sense. It's just a resistor. I grounded it and nothing happened then did the same to the thermostat sender and it pegged right away. Diagnosis: Crapped out gauge.
