Oil recommendations for a 340 Duster?

I don't have a 340 but in my 440 I run Royal Purple 10w30 with a zinc additive and I use Wix filters
Which zinc additive do you use, or doesn't it matter?

Lucas hot hot rod oil for flat tappet cams. I just use a nice high quality synthetic for my cars will roller cams. Wix, but I’ve been hearing lately that the quality is taking a hit. Not 100% sure about that so you may want to check for yourself.

Amsoil Z-Rod, not cheap but it has zinc for flat tappet muscle car applications. It also has rust inhibitors for cars that sit for extended periods.

This is the good stuff bar none. Their filters are made by wix to their specifications and are also superior to what else is out there. Don't believe me? Ask about their oil and filter related warranty. They will pay for damages done to your engine if it is caused by their products. What other oil company does that ?
Been using the 'old' Rotella T and so far, so good. What's the shelf life of oil anyways?

X2 on the Shell Rotella T. Been using it longer than most people on here have even been alive, and never a single oil related issue. Still has plenty of zinc.
Filters are either Wix, Purolator or Motorcraft (sorry- paint 'em if it bugs you, but they're good filters).

Every one of them.
10w-30 VR-1 Valvoline and a Mopar "090" filter will work great in your 340 Duster.

except I prefer 20w-50 in engines on the loose side in the summer, I like them loose.

I ran 20w-50 for years and years. I went to 10w-30 and had no down sides, all up sides. But either will work fine.

Bearing clearances dictate oil viscosity.
Valvoline Racing VR-1 straight 30 or 20w-50 with a WIX 51068 filter here.

What are the upsides? Curious minds wanna know.
- oil moves more quickly to all components at cold starts - especially if it sits a while. Very important to get things oiled as quickly as possible on start up
- better gas mileage
- frees up a slight touch of more horsepower
- easier on the intermediate shaft if you have a HV oil pump
- It "may" move more heat of the moving parts as it doesn't sit as long on the parts - not sure on this for sure.. lol

Amsoil Dominator in my 340 Dart. Has the additives I need for the solid flat tappet cam.
