When I first got my Dart I resisted the temptation to drive it around before I replaced the tires. The rear tires were date coded early 2000's, and I couldn't find a date on the fronts. It looks like I made the right choice. I'm not even sure when this happened. The tires have been stacked up against a wall for maybe six months.

Wow yes !

Had 4 trailer tires sitting out in the Florida sun that looked just like that. Put new on and on to the next thing.

I am now using a product called Sun Block for Tires that I paint on the tires to keep the Suns Ultra Violet rays from breaking them down and destroying them. So far so good.

Heat cycling and sun exposure are definately big enemies of tire life.

You dodged one for sure. Tires and brakes are things I personally don’t gamble on.
