A guy is selling some rims on craigslist I really wanna jump on, but I need to make sure the wheels will my 72.

The guy said he had them on his lowered 1963 Ford Galaxie Fastback, with 1 inch spacers, and that they are....

245/45ZR/17 - with a 5.75 positive offset???

Will these fit??

The Ford lug pattern will be 5x4.5 and your 72 is 5x4, unless you went LBP....

5.75 will not be the "positive offset", it would be the back spacing. You'll need to know the rim width to establish offset, which should be 8"-9" for a 245 tire.

5.75BS on an 8inch wide wheel isn't going to fit stock leaf spring location. You need them moved inboard more than 1/2.

I guess my question would be do you have small bolt pattern or large. When going large, the wheels will need more offset (in some cases, depending on how generous your wheel well openings are). I run a 17x8 in the rear with a 5.75 offset, but I have a stock a body 8-3/4 with 11" drum and LPB, so my rear is wider than stock.

He said offset... And if that's the case, they're not fitting on the front.

Thanks for the help gents... I was uneducated as to the bolting on my vehicle.

I ended up buying the wheels due to the awesomeness of the deal, and will just end up reselling them to a ford speed shop, near me.
