open the heater box

-
I cant remember how we did it, but we had to jb weld a couple spots after removal. Prior to reinstalling I bent them the opposite way to take tension off them, it helped for sure. Unbelievably tight!

I get a screwdriver under them and pop them off. If they seem stuck, spray some penetrating oil all over um.

Each clip has a lip. Put the screwdriver in the lip and rock the screwdriver back it comes off super easy, no damage at all.

Put them back in the same way

FWIVW, the old cases are brittle IMO. I WD 40'd them first after watching a youboob fail bending a spring clip off.
If using them, the DMT kit caulk strips are unnecessarily thick IMO.
I balked using the replacement cardboard for the backside and cut a piece of aluminum for it instead.
Also had to bend a tube and trim the exact fit heater core frame to fit heater box it allegedly fits.
