Opinion needed

Well since you asked for OPINIONS:
If it was My car;
1) I would leave the fenderwells alone, cuz, you know, they're already in there. But, if the collectors are pointing straight down, that I would change.
2) and as mentioned; I would do something with those brake-lines.
3) With skinny front tires, I would lighten the front end as much as is possible. For sure the battery would go to the back. and My car would have alloy heads
4) Another thing I would do is install the biggest rear tires that fit, and reduce the brake proportioning to the rear, cuz, on the front, you sure won't have much stopping power with the skinny donuts that fit there.
5) As soon as I could afford it, I would install an overdrive and set it up to cruise at something like 65= 2000rpm. I'm kindof partial to a manual trans, so, if a stock-cam 318, I would install an A833od
But; If I could not fit a manual trans, then I would at least get a higher stall convertor. I love my 2800.
6) my car would have;
-a cold-air intake
-HD T-bars and HD rear springs
-a modest sway-bar and
-Adjustable shocks
-an 8-3/4 for gear swapping
-at least 10" drum brakes all 'round,
-and I would figure out how to get 235s on the front, even if I have to rearrange the header pipes; and if I can do that, then I'm putting disc brakes on it, and
-if I can do all of the above, then the 318 is getting a modest solid lifter cam. and that means the A833od will be history.
7) Then I'm gonna start buying spare parts;
like a windshield ,And a more modern dash, a suspended gas-pedal, a diaphragm clutch, and if still a M/T, then
I'm moving the shifter back between the buckets, up high, and installing a short stick.
8) And by this time, it will need mini-tubs and bigger tires, and different gears. and the A833od will HAVE to come out, because the super-wide ratios, are no longer fun.
9) but, one thing that she is never getting is a radio or a sound system. I mean what's the point if you can't hear it over the wind-noise and exhaust and howling tires?
10) Yeah so, these are my ............ OPINIONS..
11) I mean I have a 68 Barracuda and these are the things that I did to it that made me happy, lol. Except being a heavier car, I started with a 360; and ended with a Commando/GVod and 65=2240.
And in stock, I have a small shed full of spare parts; cuz nothing is worse than having a years wages tied up in a car that you can't drive because a certain nearly-impossible-to-find-part, has failed..

Happy hotRodding

Take a good friend with you to look at it. Someone whose opinion you trust and will tell you the truth, no matter what. Two sets of eyes looking over the car is a good thing.

The interior is all new on the car , it’s just those headers that I have an issue with. From what I was told the engine was rebuilt 1500 miles ago. It has a edelbrock 650 on it that’s all I know right now.

It looks like the tube on the #3 cylinder is rotted through. If so, replacing those headers with something will be on the to-do list.

for the right price, i'd take a flyer on it.

you know mopars, so look for rust in all the typical places.

looks like drum brakes from the master, so i'd plan on brakes/suspension upgrades and figure that into the budget. which is fine, you can reroute those brake lines at the same time!

good thing the interior is complete, you'd go broke trying to get that together.

fenderwells is a love/hate here. like if i was building a dirt ball 70's street machine with the *** end way up in the air and some slot mags hanging out the wheel wells i'd be all about them; or maybe on a blvd. bruiser with some serious business under the hood but everything else low key on the exterior. but on a cruiser i just wanted to enjoy? unless they were mint and causing no problems they'd be gone in the amount of beers it would take me after i got it into the driveway. which would probably be two.

If it’s a lived it’s life in Arizona there won’t be rust. The guys says new brakes and suspension

I will have to see that for myself.

Don’t have a problem with drum brakes myself but disc brakes would be a good upgrade

Speedway has new (patriot) fenderwell headers for sbm.
Fenderwell headers are usually too long, which helps torque, hurts top end.
I'd find another use for a fresh 318, and put a 390 (stroker 318)/408 in between the headers.
If you can live with the fenderwells, I'd consider having them coated. I would DEFINITELY do something with the m/c brake lines.

(This from a guy with fenderwell headers and no inner fenders at all.)

This does not look like a thoughtful, informed person did the engine swap. Looks a lot more like someone who thought they had a cool idea threw the engine in and made it fit without knowing or caring about the (large and serious) problems they were creating. That's evident just by a quick glance at one underhood photo; which means there's certainly a whole lot more done wrong—some of which photos would show, some not. It's enough to put me off buying the car unless it was cheap enough to leave plenty of money to fix all the screwups.

If it's really a 318, chances are there's no way in hades it needs those ridiculous headers. Those would be the first to go IF I bought it and that's a BIG if.

I wouldn't trust the wrap. I'd reroute those lines.
Welcome from :canada:

Yeah.....Where? :) Imho, the entire MC is to close to the header pipe, wrapped or not. Id try a metal thermal shield of some kind, or see if they make opposite line mount Master Cylinder.

Why do you think the first thing I noticed was the fenderwells?!
