Other brands of cars

i love all different make of cars.. always loved mopars but had pontiacs first... the hole mopar or no car crap always seemed kinda stupid to me. with that attitude you are missing out on some awesome cars...

Das da fact jack!

I'm a car guy first, but put MOPARS highest on the list. My first car after I got my DL was a 55 Buick Special with a lumpy cam, 4.56 gears and "Dumps". Fun car. First MOPAR was in 1967 when I bought a fully built 65 Dart. I wish I still had that car but Kids and Life got in the way. I always raced Chevy's because all my Friends did and parts were plentiful. If I had my choice of the current crop of Super Cars it would be a new Mustang.

I've been a, long time, Mopar Guy. Now I have this. ---

I have a weakness for AMXs and Javelins. The thought of buying parts for them is the only thing that has help me back. 68-70 particularly.
65-66 GTOs
Recently started looking at 911s

Mopar has always been my number one but I've owned lots of other brands, 64 galaxy 500, 59 F 100, 68 VW beetle, 73 Corvette, 76 Corvette, 55 Chevy wagon, 73 AMX, 87 SS monte carlo, 86 IROC Z28, I've had lots of fun with them all.

AMC,60s fords and Buick/olds/pontics, used beat on my buddy's 68 Camaro cool car. Working at a body shop for 4 yrs i got to drive many bad *** car's.

I am a Mopar man. But.....If I ever hit the lotto. I would have a 69 442,70 Olds W30,64 GTO,70 GTO,70 Buick GSX,Rebel Macine,AMX,SC Rambler,58 Caddy Eldo,58 Chevy Impala,55 Crown Vic,55 Pontiac,58 Ford Retractable,70 Mach 1,67 427 Fairlane,67 427 Mercury Comet,70 Cougar Eliminator,65 Buick Riv,69 Trans Am,67 Chevelle SS,Shelby mustang,29 Model A truck,70 Mercury Cyclone,68 428 Torino fastback,71 Torino GT just to name a few...

Started out a ford guy with a 69 mustang coupe then brother got me into mopars which I always liked! At that time I disliked chevys but When I went to auto school a couple guys there had classic cars chevys fords and pontiacs and got to get to know them then I started liking all the other makes! But when my smaller brother got his 69 amc javelin I knew I had to get one because something about them looks badass so started getting into amcs, javelins and ramblers!! One thing I like about them is they get so much attention because they are different than the mainstream!

some of my non mopars.. :)

i still want to own one day a 70 chevelle rag top, 68/69 nova, 66ish mustang rag top. 2005-up mustang rag top. a vette (not sure what year), a trans am, amc of some sort, VW bug and or bus, tri five chevy, model a ford and i'm sure there is a lot more tot eh list of wants that i can't think of at this time.. i'll always love my mopars and theres a list of those i'd like to own also but i also love a variety. there are just so many cool cars other then mopars out there and i'd love to try them all out...

30 yrs ago if you parked in my driveway with a chevy or ford, i would go out there and kick your ***. Lol... I am still 100% mopar only and will never own any other car. As the years passed by I have come to appreciate some other models such as 62-63 vette, the javelin, gto, cougar, etc but camaros and rustangs are still a dime a dozen and I say bring it on. You can talk the talk but it comes down to 1 thing. Put that other car beside me and run it. New, old, whatever. There will always be someone faster at some point but many cars have got to smell my exhaust. Way more than the other way around. I can appreciate other brands but will never personally own nothing else but a mopar. Like they say, mopar or no car. Hemis rule!

I have never been without a Mopar but have owned a 66 GMC, 75?Pontiac Ventura Sprint,79 Pontiac, 85 Olds and a 98 Ford Escort. Started with 66 Barracuda and still have it

I'm glad I have my Barracuda but most any car between 1949 and 1972 I would like to own. I'm trying to close the deal on a 1958 Apache pickup at the moment but if that doesn't work out I will find something else that turns my crank.

some of us don't really give a **** about being the fastest car out there. personally i'd prefer a good cruising and handling car over the fastest thing around.

Right now I own a "48 Plymouth, "66 Valient, "73 Dart Sport, and a "73 Duster, and A 2017 Ram. I guess I like MOPAR'S. I also have a "13 Impala, nice daily driver, 2000 Impala, (inherited), '95 Toyota Tacoma 4X4, (was my Dad's), and an "86 Cutlass, with just over 100,000 original miles. How could you not like this car. Bought it from a little elderly couple that bought it new. He said they didn't drive it very much, because "Mama" liked riding in the truck. Garage kept, and very seldom out in the rain.

There is something wrong with this picture. My 4+1speed, 11/1, hotrod 367, at 3650pounds, has made 30.
If you ask me, there is a conspiracy to sell gas, lots of gas, lots and lots and lots of gas. Somebody is getting really really rich selling lots and lots of gas,, and just maybe, he has the power to put a cap on the mpg numbers. I mean you know, think about it.
Fifty years of technology for 12 mpgs at best, with engines less than half as big.

A friend of mine had a long wheelbase '67 Dodge van with a re-purposed CHP 440 and 727 that would get 24mpg pulling his trailered race car.

My preference is mopar but I also like certain ford and GM offerings. My pickup is a 25 year old Chevy silverado I bought new and absolutely love. Also have a 2007 mustang 4.6 GT. I have been eyeing the new bronco ford is to be putting out on the market soon. A nice alternative to the jeep south there. Nothing wrong w jeeps, but it seems everybody has one, and I want something different. I used to have a 1973 ford ranchero GT 351. I loved that thing, also did a frame off restoration on a 1960 chevy el camino. Loved that thing too.

I think every vehicle you work on theres things about them that you like and things you dont. The cool thing about working on different brands is something you like you can incorporate possibly into your current ride.

Like everyone I have to say that I am definitely a Mopar guy first and foremost and currently have something like 11 of them (2 Ebodies, 1 B body, 1 A body, 10 Challenger RT, 01 Viper, 52 Dodge pu, 01 1500, 14 2500, 05 Durango, 09 Caliber). I have owned quite a variety of cars over the years to include 2 Vettes, a BMW, an Audi (complete POS), a number of Japanese cars and a couple of Ford PU's when I was young. I have worked on a lot more and even wider variety. My dad was a Ford guy and I had to work on them which caused me to grow up hating them for the most part. All that said, I can admire and respect most cars and understand why people love them. Some notable cars would be the early 70's transams (like the instrument clusters), late 60's early 70s GTOs and Avantis. There are some European cars which are cool but most are far outside anything I could afford.

I have been thinking for a long time about getting a Triumph Spitfire, I don't know why I want one but I do. I think I just need to drive one and get it out of my system. My wife commented that we don't have any convertibles so that got me thinking about the Triumph. I have looked at Fiat 124's and MGs as well but I like the lines of the Spitfire better.

We just bought a Subaru Forester for my wife and I have to say it seems like a very good car. I thought about getting a Porsche but cannot bring myself to do it. I really like the Mercedes SL550 but the retractable hard tops can be a ***** to fix not to mention stupid expensive.

All in all, I like cars that I can potentially afford which means older and used. Not that I don't like new cars, just can't afford them without selling off some of what I have which I don't want to do.
Better watch out on them subarus ,, they feel that using a quart of oil between oil changes is acceptable. Not so on the older ones. Keep an eye on it

The modern Mopar manuals say the same thing...
