When I lived in Greenwood, SC from 84-86 Mopars were everywhere. Found tons in the junkyards too, when I went back about 10 years ago all the yards were gone!

In 1986 I bought a 68 Firebird from a man named Stuart Lake in Greenwood South Carolina

Has to be nice, haven’t seen that since the 80’s up here. How much was the dart?

I come from a country town where everybody still has their first car in the backyard
I was talking to a guy today who's been here in Modesto his whole life... Still has his high school car in his back yard.... A Dark Blue (EE1) 68 Super Bee... With a 426 Hemi, 4spd & a 4:10 Dana... Hasn't run in thirty years.... He's had many offers but it's not for sale.... So I offered to help him get it back on the road....

The Dart was $3300 and had powerbuldge hood...looked like the usual lower quarter patch needed...but original brown paint and belt stripe....bench seat..no engine or trans...auto column...mint grille and small bolt centerlines...if I didn't have too many I would have gotten all...going to see 72 satellite Sebring and 71 charger with louvered doors tmro....

Garage is packed all the bedrooms are packed pool room will be packed next kitchen is packed in hallway is packed...**** hapoens

The duster was $2000 with console and nice 72 buckets with hcode as 5th didget on vin...8.75 rear and perfect standard grille...problems with paperwork but I found a registration stub....hmmmmmm...solid floors

And they actually will sell them? Wow! Every time I ever stop to look at an old Mopar and seriously consider asking if they’d sell I almost always get the same response of “oh no, that was my granddaddy’s car, I can’t sell it it. I plan on restoring it one day” no joke. Always used to be a relatives car and a sentimental issue. And in every case the car/truck (save for an early 80’s D150 that actually disappeared soon after I inquired) is still sitting in the same spot more sunk into the ground, more junk piled around it, more sun baked. And I’m talking up to 20 years since I first spotted them.
There are lots of old Mopars still languishing out there along the backroads of upper SC that’s for sure.

I know where a 1972 yellow Factory demon 340 4-speed with dual snorkel and Gullwing in a backyard with original paint that I could probably get for $3,500 but the motor is long gone manifolds and factory exhaust and 8.75 rear still exist...black deluxe int. with buckets....title issues!!
