pad compound upgrade

after almost rear ended a suv yesterday with my daily 2018 vw.... It came clear to my mind that I ll never have came to a stop if I was in my dart. I got a track days / autocross honda for more that 25 year and run hawk pads hp on street and blue or black compound on big track, i also know that improving tire/suspension help on braking
my 72 have no power brakes, dr diff master 11.75 b bodies pin type with hawk HPS, rear 11" disc brakes conversion with cheap pads. tire are 15",and prefer to still run 15".

so anyone have better pads upgrade ?
EBC makes pads for my rear disc I never tried them ?green/yellow?

not sure, just ordered a Power Stop kit for my daily truck. my 66 Valiant will stop as good as my WRX did. just a 73-up disc master, Wilwood adjustable prop valve, 11.75 front rotors with regular pads and 11" rear drums. I am running more modern 17" tires. hell I know it out brakes the old ladies minivan...LOL any chance that master just isn't enough for your rear disc?

As you know rear brakes do little on a hard straight ahead stop.
