getting ready to paint and was wondering..........do i need to sand all the old paint off :?: had planned on doing that. if i scuff it up real good will the new paint stick as well :?: or am i better off priming bare metal :?: after priming is there any thing that i need to spray over the primer before painting :?: last Q. anyone know where to get a left rear 1/4 for a 66 cuda :?:

its really up to you. i had a paintjob over the stock one, so i sanded down to the stock paintjob. then i got ride of all of the rust. then sealer primer. then filler primer/blocking. then the day that we painted the car went over it with acryli clean, one coat of sealer, then base/clear.
 
You don't have to go down to the bare metal, but if the car has been painted before you might want to sand down to the original primer (or paint like 16dartandbroke did) You just don't want to have too much paint on your car because if its too thick it'll start cracking.
