Paint repair for the non-painter type

I was doing some routine maintenance on the wife's 07 Caliber, and noticed the paint under the front lip of the hood is flaking and there's some light corrosion underneath. I was tempted to mask it and blast it with primer, but figured I'd ask:

is there a spray-can-simple product that will slow down this cancer since I caught it early?
