Should the parking lights stay on when the headlight switch is pulled to the headlight position? Mine does.
Thanks,
Gerry

Clear lens needs an amber bulb..I have the bulb chart for my 67 Barracuda. It says the bulb for the parking lights is a 1034A. Is this an amber or clear bulb?
Thanks for the help.
Yeah. Thanks figured that. The parking light bulb for a 67 Dodge Dart is 1034. No “A”. So I assume that one is clear. The "A" at the end of part# stands for Amber
Yes, 1034 ad 1157 (heavy duty) have for long time been the "go to" standard for park/ turn and tail/ turn-stop lamps. And "A: after the part no. of either is of course amberYeah. Thanks figured that. The parking light bulb for a 67 Dodge Dart is 1034. No “A”. So I assume that one is clear.
Amber, right from the start (not a later change), and that bulb is obsolete in a not-worth-mourning kind of way. Its successor was 1034NA, and the current version is 1157NA, though some companies have reverted to the 1157A number.I have the bulb chart for my 67 Barracuda. 1034A listed (but 6 Volt!) so would not work on our cars (for very long)
I edited my earlier post, not sure why I thought it was shown as 6V. I'm getting old1034 is and always was a 12-volt bulb. The 6-volt park/turn or tail/brake bulb was the the 1154.
Yeah, me too. Can't tell if I'm in the right grocery aisle without my glasses on; can't see products or read labels without my glasses off.I'm getting old
I use Crackleback's headlight relay kit for this reason on my '68 A-Body and '70 E-Body. I even upgraded to his relay kit for the '68's convertible top motor. Nice quality kits.Just something to consider....
This also adds to the current being pulled through the switch when the headlights are on.
Many of not most of the headlight switches already have signs of melt at the feed terminal
I bought 10 with the original type of coating from you - thank you, even if you don't like 'em. The GE coating was more thorough than sylvania's but I was just glad you had some to sell.Amber, right from the start (not a later change), and that bulb is obsolete in a not-worth-mourning kind of way.
